Award-winning writer Carmen Agra Deedy spins stories and reads from her book The Rooster who Would Not Be Quiet.
Deedys memories of her childhood have been collected in the volume Growing Up Cuban in Decatur, Georgia. She has told stories at the Kennedy Center, The National Book Festival, TED and on National Public Radio. In 2001, she was presented with the Jane Addams Peace Association Book Award (Honor) by Mrs. Kofi Annan at the United Nations for her book The Yellow Star.
