"Island Under the Stars" - Travel in time to Puerto Rico and explore the island's artists through art and science. Projects include drawing, painting, origami, photography, 3D design, and more.

This summer session we invite you to "travel" to Puerto Rico and create a variety of fine arts projects inspired by a legacy of past and contemporary artists, with a spotlight on contributions by women artists. Projects include drawing, painting, mixed media, origami, photography, design, architecture, and sculpture. A STEAM focus integrates into the curriculum connecting art, physics, and astronomy.
CSA Summer Art School is for students from Pre-K to 12th Grade.
Instructors are experts in their specific field. Classes and supplies are made free, thanks to contributions from private donors at Women in the Arts, Inc.; West Orange Foundation: C101 and Leadership Alumni; Studio T; Suntrust Bank Employee, and Fiske Co. This summer session is dedicated: "In Memory of Arnene Owens" and presented in partnership with the Hiawassee Library.

The Hiawassee Branch began as a bookmobile station in 1962 and was first known as the Pine Hills Library. In later moves the branch became the West Colonial branch and in March 2000, Hiawassee. In early 2010, the Hiawassee Branch moved to a new home near the corner of Hiawassee Road and West Colonial Drive in the Highland Lakes shopping plaza.
