Increase your knitting skills. Shape your work with basic increase and decrease stitches.
Students will knit a diamond bookmark pattern with the use of yarn over and knit two together stitches, while practicing basic stitches and techiniques learned in Knit It Level 1.
Required Materials: Yarn has been generously donated for each student to create the class project. All other tools and materials will be provided for the duration of the class.
Optional Materials: Students have the option of using personal materials in class. If you elect to provide your own materials, please bring approximately 10-15 yards of bulky weight (size 5) yarn, size US 10.5 (6.5 mm) knitting needles.
Note: Basic knitting skills (including casting on, the knit stitch, and binding off) are necessary to start this project.

The Alafaya Branch has a long history of providing library services to the East Orange County community. The branch originally opened in 1965 as the Azalea Park branch, situated on Lake Barton Road. From the 1970s through the 1990s the branch provided library services from shopping center locations. Ground was broken in January 1999 for a new branch, designed to be the prototype branch for future Orange County Library System branches. Opened on February 1, 2000, the Alafaya branch was funded by a Florida Library Construction Grant.
