Create a beautiful cabled bookmark. Learn how to use a cable needle to create right and left leaning cables, while practicing pattern reading and basic knitting techniques.
Materials: Yarn has been generously donated for each student to create the class project. All other tools and materials will be provided for the duration of the class. Students have the option of bringing in materials for class. If you elect to provide your own materials, please bring approximately 20 yards (0.35 ounces) of worsted weight yarn (size 4) and size US 8 (5.0 mm) knitting needles and a cable needle.

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
