Are ready to learn some more advanced sewing skills?
We will teach you sewing techniques for creating a tote bag with special features like welt zipper interior pocket, recessed zipper closure, slip pockets and more. This is a 5-day series. Each session will be 2 hours. Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes to this series. We provide the measurements/pattern for the tote. Students are required to bring: fabric A (main exterior) yard fabric B (contrasting exterior bottom + straps) yard fabric C (lining) yard medium weight fusible interfacing of choice - 2 yards Matching heavyweight/Topstitch thread. Students are required to have intermediate sewing skills, able to wind a bobbin and thread and troubleshoot sewing machine. Registration is required with a Library card in good standing. Located in the Orange Blossom Center, the South Trail Branch is an open, bright branch with lots of sunshine. The branch is located in a commercial center, adjacent to numerous multi-family housing units and is a popular spot for children and families.
The history of South Trail branch spans almost four decades. It began as the Ft. Gatlin branch at 105 Gatlin Avenue in 1965. The branch moved to the corner of Holden Avenue and South Orange Blossom Trail in 1981. The move across the street to the current site in the Orange Blossom Center took place in 1996.
