Why should kids have all the fun? Come to the library and enjoy a story or activity as our talented library storytellers entertain ages 18 and up!
Each branch will have a unique storytime. Be sure to check out your local branch for unique event details. For more information, please visit ocls.info/grownupstorytime. This event will feature: Stories from a Wordslinger Part 2: Storyteller Deanna Braunstein will share stories that her mother wrote or told her that she hopes will encourage others to have intergenerational discussions about family history and experiences. When her mother passed away, these stories were an incredible gift. They contained both real life experiences, and her mothers strong literary voice and sense of humor. The event will be a mix of these stories, and helping the audience to get started documenting their own family stories. It is not necessary to have seen Part One to enjoy Part Two.

The Alafaya Branch has a long history of providing library services to the East Orange County community. The branch originally opened in 1965 as the Azalea Park branch, situated on Lake Barton Road. From the 1970s through the 1990s the branch provided library services from shopping center locations. Ground was broken in January 1999 for a new branch, designed to be the prototype branch for future Orange County Library System branches. Opened on February 1, 2000, the Alafaya branch was funded by a Florida Library Construction Grant.
